So, I have finally decided to start focusing on sharing my business journey on socials. To be fair I should have done this a long time ago but kept putting it off. It’s definitely out of my comfort zone so bear with me as I am learning on the job with these socials.

For those who don’t know me my name is Paul Hunt, born and bread Wiganer. I have been in the building trade for over 20 years. I started out doing joinery then progressed to doing extensions and full refurbishments which included bathrooms, flooring, windows, landscaping and roofing work. This gave me a lot of experience within construction on a domestic level.

I then got the opportunity to fit kitchens and this was something I enjoyed more than the extensions as they are smaller projects and the British weather didn’t really take its toll on my schedule with it being 90% indoor work.

Currently I do kitchens and joinery which is my bread and butter and I retrained as a gas engineer to open up more opportunities within plumbing and heating. I have also carried out a number of other training courses as I like to challenge myself and add to my skills.

I then decided to bring to life an idea I had for years which I never thought I could ever get off the ground, it just seemed out of my reach. I persevered and finally got it moving and I am now at a point where I can push it forward. I have seen how powerful social media is as a marketing tool and I would kick myself if I didn’t give this a go and advertise the business and showcase what we do, which in turn may be helpful to you all.

So, we have rebranded and are now called 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗼 𝗟𝘁𝗱 formally Hunt Installation Ltd.

This website has two functions, one is a portal for homeowners and landlords to manage their properties and request repairs either emergency or none emergency, this is a subscription model and gives them priority call outs and a personal login to request a repair, view completed work and certificates etc. We also offer one off repairs for none subscribers and jobs quoted separately but subscriptions take priority. The subscription can be tailored to cover 90% of household tasks so covers you for the small issues that most trades don’t want to do.

This service is called Tradiego Fix and you may have seen my van around the Wigan area.

The second part of the website is a trade directory, this came about first as I wanted to help homeowners get connected with genuine trades people, ones who have pride in their work and are at the top of their game, achieving the highest possible standards. I believe there is enough work to go around for everyone so we should all support each other in order to maintain this standard. There are some amazing tradespeople in Wigan and we want you on our site, cowboy builders are amongst us and only exist because homeowners hire them, wanting a cheap job or can’t wait for a quality job, if we can make our site the only truly trusted platform for trades then this eliminates the risk, giving trades fair competition to win the work. Legit businesses cost money to run so of course they will cost more as they value their own worth.

Each business has their own profile that displays what services they carry out, skills, qualifications, area covered and gallery. Homeowners can create a free login to unlock contact details and message through the site. We have eliminated fake reviews by only allowing registered customers to give feedback and we carry out random checks in order to check authenticity and view the work to ensure standards are kept high. This goes round full circle, the homeowner registers, hires a trade and comes back to leave a review then we check to work. Bad reviews will flag up and we will investigate this and help to resolve and protect both homeowner and trade. This service is Free for the homeowner and for a limited time we are giving 3 businesses in each trade a FREE 12-month membership. This platform isn’t a lead generation site and we do not guarantee that you will get more work through being listed, however as we grow and you manage your listing by keeping it up to date then I don’t see why work doesn’t come your way. Homeowners can also post a job on the task board and you as the trade can choose to contact that user for the opportunity to provide a quote and trades can contact then to fill gaps in their diary.

We are not the same as other sites, as our vetting process is strict and once passed then you will be invited to promote your business. My goal is to make it free for all to use but this will take time and investment. If we can get enough listings then we can open the door to adding other features such as trade only access for listing nightmare customers as these exist too, which in turn helps us all avoid non payers, time wasters etc.
